Apartment
Homes TLC
Apartment Homes TLC was a company on the verge.
A free apartment-locating service for customers
in the Charlotte area, the company had achieved
moderate success using customer leads from a furniture
rental company. They had built an excellent reputation
in the rental market and were beginning to see
more word of mouth leads and repeat business.
However, several barriers were keeping them from
the large-scale success they had envisioned.
The furniture rental company had decided to stop
forwarding them customer leads and instead, create
their own competing apartment locating service.
The Charlotte region was growing so fast that
it was no longer possible for the employees to
memorize the apartment community knowledge needed
to consult with customers. And consequently, it
was taking too long to bring the new employees
up to speed. Without new employees the company
could not grow and without a way to generate their
own leads the company could not survive. That
is when Apartment Homes TLC turned to SilverLining
Design.
Working closely with Apartment Homes TLC, we
created a 3-phase technology solution to get them
from where they were to where they wanted to be.
We began by revamping their company website, complete
with a web form that potentials customers can
fill out to request service. Instead of relying
on a third party company, Apartment Homes TLC
could now advertise their own website in order
to generate Internet leads. Next, we created a
back end database driven system used to capture
customer and apartment community data. Instead
of having to memorize the features of the around
500 apartment communities in Charlotte, employees
can now enter into the system the community features
a customer is looking for and the system automatically
generates a list of communities that match those
needs.
The site needed to be developed to control the
information passed to the customer and allow a
sales representative to walk the client through
the experience. Each complex needed to have information
on amenities, floor plans, community, prices,
and other dynamic content. These areas needed
to be managed by the apartment communites to keep
prices and amenities current. The backend system
needed to allow for not only Apartment Homes TLC
employees to login and edit information, but to
also allow the apartment communities themselves
to edit content. Each apartment community can
only login in, see and edit their own community's
information. |
